Am I eligible?

You may be eligible for plant-based medicine if:

  • If you have a chronic medical condition that has lasted longer than 3 months
  • You have trialled conventional medical treatments without relief of your symptoms

Plant‑based medicines are not suitable for everyone. Certain mental health conditions, heart conditions, interacting medications (including blood thinners), and pregnancy or breastfeeding may mean this treatment is not appropriate. Your clinician will review this with you during your consult. If you’re unsure, you can book a free screening call to discuss your suitability.

What will my consultation involve?

Discussing your medical history including any medications you may already be taking (please provide us with a medical summary from your regular GP prior to your initial appointment).

Discussing your current lifestyle habits, how these can impact on your overall wellness, and any areas we may be able to assist with. This may include advice on nutrition, physical activity, sleep, and stress management techniques.

Discussing whether plant-based medicine may be suitable for you and if you meet the recommended guidelines for prescribing.

Discussing any potential risks and benefits of using plant-based medicine, as well as current driving laws.

Your practitioner will then develop an individualised treatment plan to help you support your endocannabinoid system through a variety of methods (this may include plant-based medicine if eligible).

Please note:

Any questions asked by your medical practitioner are for the purposes of gaining a better understanding of how you are in order to offer care that is tailored to you as an individual. Wildleaf Clinic is a judgment-free space where we desire everybody to feel comfortable to be themselves.

We actively encourage Wildleaf patients to keep a journal of their symptoms whilst receiving care. Engaging in a regular practice of self inquiry and reflection can allow for the development of pattern recognition and coping strategies to help you manage your symptoms.

How do I access my scripts?

If your clinician prescribes plant‑based medicine, the approval time varies slightly depending on who you see.

GPs can usually complete approvals and issue your script during your appointment.

Nurse Practitioners typically receive approval within 24–48 hours.

Wildleaf Dispensary is located right next door and can assist with your prescription immediately after your consult. All scripts are valid for six months from the date they are issued.

Can I request specific medicines?

Our practitioners are trained in the complexities of plant-based medicine and take into account many factors when deciding which medication may be appropriate for you and your medical needs. We believe patients should feel empowered and informed about their treatment and at Wildleaf Clinic, we actively engage in shared-decision making with our patients when planning care. We are certainly happy to discuss any preferences you may have but ultimately decisions around prescriptions are based on the professional opinion and sole discretion of your medical practitioner.
